Happy Anniversary V.F. McNeil!!

As we turn the last page on the 2010 calendar and move on to the 2011 calendar, the year that marks our 125^th Anniversary, we reminisce about our fondest memories of 2010 at V.F. McNeil, as well as our memories from prior years.  At the same time, we look ahead to the future and the excitement it holds for our agency, as well as for those who are involved, and those who will become involved.

2011 will be a very momentous year for V.F. McNeil. We have so many new things planned for this calendar year in celebration of our anniversary.  We can’t wait to share them with everyone!  But first, let’s take that stroll down memory lane.  While looking back on each fun, exciting, and gratifying experience that we’ve had, we all consider ourselves fortunate to be part of such a great team and a great community.

For example, our first year as a Gold Sponsor and exhibitor at the Branford Festival is definitely at the top of our list.  It was very rewarding to be involved in such an amazing event that benefits our community in so many ways.  We enjoy helping to make this event possible each year, as well as many other events like the grand opening of the YMCA, holiday dinners at the Branford Community Dining Room, The Myelin Project, the Men of Branford Fundraiser, and so many more.  Our community involvement continues to expand into different areas each year.  We are very proud of these accomplishments and pledge to always help our Friends of V.F. McNeil to the best of our ability. 

Of course our staff always looks forward to our annual holiday events such as Halloween dress-up day, our team Christmas dinner, and the unexpected visits from each well known holiday character.  Yes that’s right folks; Peter Cottontail comes hopping down the bunny trail even at V.F. McNeil. 

Speaking of holidays, we remember our first year as a Toy’s-For-Tots drop-off location.  It was so exciting to see how giving people are.  This year was the topper when a donor left at least four garbage bags full of toys in our hallway without even coming in.  It was like opening up the door and Santa himself had been there.   How uplifting!     

Let’s not forget about the joyous things that have happened involving our very own team, and our very own clients.  We’ve had two team members recently get married, two recent children born to team members, team members who adopted new pets (we love it when they visit), community service awards, agency of the month award, happy contest winners from our varied events, happy client faces with claims and problems solved to their satisfaction, featured client stories, the completion of our first agency video, blazing the trail through blogging and social media, and our green act in May 2009. 

Wow, it really has been quite an experience.  While reflecting back, we are also looking forward to the path ahead.  We sincerely hope that you will continue on our journey with us for years to come.  Happy New Year to all!!!
