Congratulations Julie!

Julie Gribbins - Executive Assistant/Freelance Writer

Julie Gribbins - Executive Assistant/Freelance Writer

Most of you know Julie Gribbins as the friendly face and voice who greets you when you visit or call the agency.

At V.F. McNeil, we know her not only as that friendly face and voice, but also as the right arm of V.F. McNeil.  Juggling phone calls, accounting, and many other important tasks, Julie’s position as Executive Assistant keeps her plate full and her days busy.

Although her position here at the agency fills up much of her time, Julie somehow finds the extra time she needs to lead another position outside the agency, one that allows her to share her very talented writing skills with the people of her community.

Since joining V.F. McNeil in February 2009, we’ve also known Julie as the freelance writer who shares entertaining stories of her life experiences in her regular feature, Shoreline Living, special to the Living Section of Shore Publishing.

Possibly some of you already know Julie as this person. However, if you don’t, here is the column titled “Little Monsters” that was responsible for earning Julie a first place award for Excellence in Journalism in a contest for Connecticut newspapers and magazines.

She won first place in the general column community nondaily category.  The award was posted in the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists.  In this column, Julie shares how she empowers herself with her usual wit and humor to conquer a very real fear of something many women face in life.

All first place winners will be entered in the national contest…

Join us in congratulating Julie and wishing her the best of luck for a place in the national contest.
